Book Blogger Insider Tag

I love learning about blogging and bloggers... So when I found this tag via @boundtowriting... I knew that I had to do it. I don't know where this tag originally came from. If you do please let me know in the comments below and I would be more than happy to credit them.

Where do you typically write your blog posts?
I am usually writing them while I lay on my couch in the living room. Of course, laying down with my fluffy pillow and my dog Tinkerbell snuggling up to me. She's my writing buddy.

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?
It depends on the book and gathering up all of my thoughts. Generally, it takes around an hour or a little longer to get all the graphics done and my thoughts out on-page. Book reviews take the longest for me to write. I am super meticulous about writing them and want them to be 100% honest and my best. I can be kind of OCD about them. Especially since I am rating someone's writing. I would want the same courtesy if someone was rating my writing as well.

When did you start your book blog?
February of 2018. My blog's birthday is coming up! I cannot believe it's going to be two years since I created my blog.

What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
Whenever I work so hard on a post for hours and don't get the number of views that I was expecting. Or stressing out about having to get a book read at a certain date. Also, having to turn down books to read. Overall, there are way more positives than negatives and I love what I do. I wouldn't have kept at my blog this long if it wasn't worth it. The amount of doors that my blog has opened for me is insane! I thank god every single day that I have this outlet and people care what I have to say. It's never really been about the numbers to me. I blog for myself. It's just nice knowing that someone cares about all of my hard work.

What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
The books for sure! Also, the amazing book people and the author's that I have met. Before my blog, I only really had my dad to talk about books with. Most of my family aren't readers. At least not like me.

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?
There are so many! I love doing these tags and personal self-help posts. Basically, any discussions that I have written. The tab to check out all my discussion posts is above. Click on the word discussion and then you can see all of them.

What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
List type posts, self-help, or book discussions. I also love doing these tag type posts where I answer questions.

When do you typically write?
Any chance that I get. I love writing at night though. I tend to be the most inspired.

Do you review every book you read?
I try to. So far, I have been really good about it.

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?
Yes, with my baby girl Tinkerbell. In the morning, when I am writing, I usually have a cup of coffee in my hand. I would be too distracted to write with Netflix on in the background. I would just want to watch the tv. However, I do usually have music playing. Music inspires me.

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?
It all varies. I try to write them sooner rather than later. Just so I don't forget anything about the book. I usually have them done at least two weeks after I have finished a book. Unless I am behind on book reviews that is. I tend to read much faster than I can get a review out.

How often do you post?
It's random. I try not to give myself specific days or times. Otherwise, I won't write. I don't like things seeming like they are a requirement. I get too rebellious then. If I don't give myself too many deadlines then I tend to write more. I average around 3-4 posts a week.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I hope you enjoyed it! It was a lot of fun for me to fill it out. Do we have anything in common? Feel free to do this tag even if I do not tag you below. I would love to read your answers. So let me know if you do this tag and I would love to read them.

  1. I just love these things! -- My posting is random as well. When I blogged 8 yrs ago, I posted 7 days a week, and it started to feel like a job and less like a hobby. Now; after starting back up - I aim for 4 days a week, but never set days. I feel like I get better content that way! I also love the discussion post aspect of all of this! I am trying a discussion type challenge for the new year; I hope it goes as I see it in my head!

Thanks for sharing about yourself (:

    1. Thanks for stopping by. Yeah, I don't like schedules... I would rather write when I feel like it personally. I never want my content to feel forced.

  2. I LOVE writing book discussions aswell ! I also go for reviewing all that I read -- so far there's only one book that I didn't, just because I had no words for it xD It was the type of book that you kinda like when reading it, but then you think upon it some more and you find out it was not so great, actually?

Also, Yay for the blog anniversary coming soon ! I just celebrated my 2years a few days ago :)

    1. I cannot believe it's going to be 2 years for me too! The time has gone by so incredibly fast. It's important to only review what you really want to.

  3. The worst part of blogging is definitely when a time-consuming post gets no attention. My Reading & Walking posts take forever, and pretty much nobody looks at them, but I keep doing them because they’re fun.

    1. At the end of the day, your blog and posts are for you.... a place to vent... so if it doesn't get much views it's not the end of the world. Great mindset. :)
