Bookish Tag: The Secret Life of a Book Blogger

I found this amazing tag via @alysinbookland! She is one of my favorite bloggers and such a sweetheart. If you aren't following her blog, you totally should. This weekend, I am at my family's cabin up in the pine trees and enjoying life. I love being up in the mountains outside of the desert heat of Phoenix, AZ. My dog is in pure heaven also.

The deck here is great to lay outside and catch up on some reading and writing! I am taking full advantage of it. If you know who created this tag, please let me know! I would love to give them credit for it.

How long have you been a blogger?
I began my blog in February of 2018! I can't believe how fast time has gone already!

At what point do you think you will stop?
I don't plan on stopping. Blogging has become such a huge hobby of mine and I have always enjoyed writing. It has become such a huge outlet for me to vent and decompress. Not to mention, it helps me to know that I am not alone in this world that many people are going through the same things as me. I love that it has opened doors for me as well in the literary world. Without my blog, I wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to receive so many ARCS of books coming out. Blogging has opened a lot of doors for me in terms of reading in general. I wouldn't have read so many amazing books or have known about them in the first place.
What is the best part?
Meeting other fellow readers to talk about all things books! Also, getting books before they come out to the general public to read!

What is the worst part?
I honestly can't think of a downside. I love blogging so much. Maybe working so hard on a post and not getting the views that I thought it would receive? However, I don't care much about my views. I blog for myself. Always will and always have.

How long does it take you to find/create pictures to use?
Not super long. Some posts take longer than others just because I am picky. It's easy to find photos to use these days online. There's so many resources to use.

Who is your book crush?
I don't really have one honestly that I can think of.

Whose author would you like to have on your blog?
Any authors really that would want to. I am fascinated by the writing process in general.

What do you wear when you write your blog?
I wear anything or whatever I’m wearing on that day. Mostly, comfy clothes. I blog a lot in my pajamas.

How long does it take you to prepare a post?
It depends on the post and how planned out it is in advance. Most don't take super long. Book reviews take the longest for me to write. Only because I like having a well thought out review because I believe all authors deserve that when writing about their works. I know from writing my own book that authors books are considered their babies and they deserve that respect to be given to them. No matter if you liked the book or not.... books deserve a well thought out review that is honest and true.

How do you feel about the book blogger community/culture?
Everyone I have met so far is very friendly and supportive. All of us fellow bloggers read and support each other's blogs.

What do you think one should do to have a successful blog?
Use social media to chat and network with other fellow bloggers. I utilize twitter like crazy for this. The majority of your readers are going to come from other bloggers. Always have pretty graphics to draw readers in. There are tons of blogs out there. What are you going to do to make your blog stand out from the rest? You have to have a pretty blog layout too.
That was a short but sweet book tag. It's always fun to reflect on your own blogging. I won't tag anyone specific in this book tag. If you would like to do this tag, please feel free to. Let me know in the comments down below if you do. I would love to read your answers.

How long have you been blogging? What are your favorite things about blogging/blogs? What do you look for in a great blog that draws you in as a reader? I hope you are doing amazing and reading some awesome books right now.

xoxo,
