Millie Morris has always been one of the guys. A UC Santa Barbara professor, she’s a female-serial-killer expert who’s quick with a deflection joke and terrible at getting personal. And she, just like her four best guy friends and fellow professors, is perma-single. So when a routine university function turns into a black-tie gala, Mille and her circle make a pact that they’ll join an online dating service to find plus-ones for the event. There’s only one hitch: after making the pact, Millie and one of the guys, Reid Campbell, secretly spend the sexiest half-night of their lives together, but mutually decide the friendship would be better off strictly platonic. But online dating isn’t for the faint of heart. While the guys are inundated with quality matches and potential dates, Millie’s first profile attempt garners nothing but dick pics and creepers. Enter “Catherine”—Millie’s fictional profile persona, in whose make-believe shoes she can be more vulnerable than she’s ever been in person. Soon “Catherine” and Reid strike up a digital pen-pal-ship...but Millie can’t resist temptation in real life, either. Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear—intimacy—or risk losing her best friend, forever.
Two best friends realize they are in love with each other after they sleep together.
I love any friends to lovers book. Christina Lauren ceases to amaze me. They never let me down. Their books are always my favorites. The story revolves around a girl named Millie. She has a group of guy friends at work. One day, the group decides to try online dating to find a date for a work event.

After Millie hooks up with her best friend Reid, he matches with Millie on the online dating site having no idea that it is actually Millie his friend. They begin an online courtship where Millie keeps her identity secret from Reid. He begins to fall for Millie online having no idea that he is actually talking to his best friend. Millie never intended on catfishing Reid but it becomes easier to open up to him online.

I loved the two main characters. They are both nerds but in the best way. Rooting for them throughout the entire story was not hard to do. By the end of the book, I could not wait for them to get together. The love story was sweet and touched my heart in a way all love stories should. Not smiling throughout My Favorite Half-Night Stand is almost impossible. The book is steamy, heartfelt, and enjoyable all at the same time.

Christina Lauren are pros at writing romance. I will never get enough of their stories. My Favorite Half-Night Stand is one of my new favorites. A lot of the book is told in emails and chats which made it very fun to read. Your girl devoured this story. The book is laugh out loud funny! I enjoyed all of the characters which are extremely rare for me to find. Feeling the tension build between the two main characters until they get together was so good. I instantly became so invested in the characters and story.

There are many complexities when trying to be friends with someone who you were intimate with. Not many books show this dynamic, as well as Christina Lauren, did. Intrigue left me wanting more. I have been trying to get through all of Christina Lauren's books because they do not disappoint. Many have become some of my favorite books. If you like a good rom-com type of romance then you have to give this one a try! You will not be disappointed.
