In business circles, I’m known for being cutthroat and demanding. Robert Dumont is a hardass, they say. And it’s true. I thrive on challenges. Taking the family-owned restaurant chain to the next level is my passion. When my sister’s marriage implodes, I head back to New York, to be there for her and my niece. These are my only two priorities: growing the business and taking care of my family. My new neighbor is a temptation I hadn’t counted on. Skye Winchester is bold, sensual and I just can’t keep my distance. I’m determined to make her mine. But once I’ve touched her, I want more. I want to worship her all night long. As a business owner herself, Skye’s got enough on her plate. I was expecting her to run in the opposite direction when she realizes how complicated my life is. Instead, she does the opposite: making my sister laugh, charming my niece… She completely wins me over. Neither of us expected our attraction to grow until it obscures everything but each other. And neither of us can afford to allow that. But how can we stop now?
A girl falls for her hot next-door neighbor.
At first, I had no idea that One Perfect Touch was apart of a series. However, the novel can totally be read as a standalone. The novel follows Skye who owns her own lingerie company. One day while trying to help her neighbors sell their house by hosting an open house the new buyer quickly takes her off her feet and asks her on a date. Needless to say, a hot romance begins to ensue with her new sexy neighbor. Both her and Robert are hardworking successful business-led people. They begin to inspire each other in only the best ways possible.

I absolutely adored Layla Hagen's writing style. She had a marvelous way of telling a story and building characters to be both likable and believable. The love story was everything that I look for in a romance novel. It was sweet but also steamy and passionate in all the right ways.

I loved how Robert would not take no for an answer when it came to going on a date with Skye. He pursued her like no other which gave me all the fuzzies inside. Having a passionate man being portrayed was something I very much enjoyed reading.

Sometimes, Skye and her fear of commitment became a bit annoying to me. I mean come on what are you waiting for? Robert is absolutely amazing and likes you too. I felt like she was denying herself happiness that should not have been denied. I get what the author was trying to portray but the build-up was a little too much for my taste.

The book portrayed family dynamics well which I very much enjoyed reading. I loved the relationship between Skye and her sister. Not to mention Robert and his love for his niece. This was a very cute love story that any romance lover would like. Not one of my favorites but overall I very much enjoyed reading it. Still, a very cute ending that left me smiling.

Welcome! My name is Layla Hagen and I am a Contemporary Romance author. I fell in love with books when I was nine years old, and my love affair with stories continues even now, many years later. I write romantic stories and can’t wait to share them with the world. And I drink coffee. Lots of it, in case the photo didn’t make it obvious enough ;)
