A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth. We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from New York Times bestselling author, National Book Award finalist, and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart. Read it. And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
One summer something terrible happens to a young girl and her family.

It has been months, I would even go as far to say years since I have found a book that has touched me this much. I have not cried over a book in a really long time and this book made me cry. I could not put it down. I was up until around 4 am reading it. It's been a couple days since I finished it and I am still thinking about that dang ending! I did not see that one coming.

This novel had everything I could ever want from a book. This is the very reason why I read. The book evoked so much emotion within me. I wish it didn't have to end. It was the perfect length. I am not even going to tell you what it's about because that would spoil its awesomeness. I went into knowing nothing and that made it so much better. Therefore, I think you should go into reading it knowing nothing either. Trigger warning for mental health. We Were Liars gets five huge stars from this book nerd!
