It is Tuesday again and that calls for another TTT :) These are some of my favorite posts to write. The TTT this week gives you lots of flexibility to write about basically anything you’d like: “Reasons Why I Love [insert your favorite book title, genre, author, etc. here]”. So, I have decided to write about The Reasons Why I Love The Romance Genre. Since it is my favorite genre after all. Basically, the only books lately that I have been in the mood to read.

You can find past TTT post topics here.

1. I live vicariously through book romances.
The single life is real. Lately, to be honest, I have been kind of lonely. So, I like nothing more than swooning over book boyfriends.

2. I love powerful and sassy female heroines.
What most romances have in common is that each heroine is usually sassy and strong in personality. I love likable female characters. I mean who wouldn't fall in love with them honestly?

3. Happy endings are the best.
With how scary and crazy the real world is I like escaping into something happy for a change. Love is the best thing this world has to offer.

4. They give me hope.
Hopefully, one day I will find love just like the girls I read about in books.

5. Romance novels are light and fluffy reads for the most part.
I don't have to put much thought into what I am reading. I tend to read romance novels fast and there is not a lot of thinking involved. Romance helps me to feel better when I am overwhelmed.

6. Romance has taught me to not care what other people think about the books that I am reading.
I am proud to be a lover of the romance genre. When I first started reading romance, I wondered what others would think about the books that I read. As I kept reading the genre, I became less afraid and more proud to share the books that I loved. There is nothing wrong with loving love. Romance has made me more comfortable in my own skin.

7. Romances are character-driven stories.
Some of my favorite book characters have come from romance novels. The stories are all about the characters after all and how they find each other.

8. The drama is entertaining.
There is nothing more entertaining to me than a fast-moving plot. I love all of the tension in a good romance novel. I live for the climax and knowing that there is usually going to be a happy ending.

9. They show what women want and need in a partner.
I think even more books should emphasize what women deserve in a relationship. Romances do just that and this makes them a special genre. Romances have helped me to realize what I should strive for in a partnership.

10. I get to learn more about myself and different perspectives on love.
Romances often dive into each character and how they perceive love. It gives me a little insight into what a man may be thinking in a relationship.

Why do you read romance novels? What are some of your favorite romances? I would love to know in the comments down below.

xoxo,
