Lay out the Beach Towel – It’s A Summer Book Tag!

It's summer and what I wouldn't give to be on the beach right now. This is probably one of the first summers in years where I won't make it to the beach! 😞I love the beach and laying out by the water. Especially with a good book in my hands. The summer in Arizona is terrible! It's been record-breaking heat the last couple weeks. 116 degrees outside is not fun! Thank the Lord for air conditioning. It's been humid on top of that too.

I hope you have some amazing summer plans and make it to the beach! Anyways, this looked like a fun tag to do. I found it via @boundtowriting but I couldn't find who originally created it. If you know please let me know in the comments down below. I would love to give them credit.

Let's get started:

WHAT BOOK COVER MAKES YOU THINK OF SUMMER?

Stay Sweet by Siobhan Vivian
There's nothing more summer than this book and cover! It's easily one of my new favorite books that I have read. It's all about a young girl who runs an ice cream shop in the summer. The summery vibe is great. Who doesn't love a good contemporary book in the summer?

WHAT BOOK HAS BRIGHTENED YOUR DAY?

Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans
I have loved this book since I was little. Recently, I re-read it and just smiled the entire time while reading it. The book definitely made my day better. Everyone should read this classic children's story. Madeline said, "POO POO!" Makes me laugh every single time.

FIND A BOOK COVER WITH YELLOW ON IT.

The Dinner List by Rebecca Serle
This is the only yellow book on my shelf right now. I recently read it a couple months ago. While it wasn't a favorite or exactly amazing it wasn't bad either. An average contemporary. The premise seemed really cool to me and I kind of got my hopes up with this one. A girl makes a list of all the people she would like to have to dinner with her dead or alive and they show up. However, why are they on the list in the first place?

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER BEACH READ?

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
Please, read the book before watching the movie! However, watch the movie too. Seeing Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth literally fall in love on the big screen makes my girl heart squeal with excitement. This is the perfect summer romance book! I am a sucker for my Nicholas Sparks novels and this is one of my favorites by far. Plus, it's literally set in the summer on the beach. Can't get more summer than that!

WHAT ACTION BOOK HAD YOU RUNNING FOR THE ICE CREAM MAN?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I don't read a lot of action books. The only series/books that came to mind were The Hunger Games Trilogy. These books are just too good to not read. They for sure kept me on the edge of my seat while reading them.

(SUNBURN) WHAT BOOK HAS LEFT YOU WITH A BAD AND/OR PAINFUL ENDING?

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
Let me first say this is an emotional story in itself. The books ending is completely different from the movie. However, both endings are equally as painful. It was very hard to read and watch the movie! The story is so painfully sad. Tears overflow with this story.

(SUNSET) WHAT BOOK GAVE YOU THE HAPPIEST FEELINGS WHEN IT ENDED?

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
All kinds of fuzzy feelings with this book. I won't give anything away but it's one of my favorite books and romances. The story just makes me smile.

WHAT BOOK COVER REMINDS YOU OF A SUNSET?

Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
This one was hard to find. I think all the colors in the Everything Everything cover remind me of a sunset sort of. It's definitely a unique cover. I love all the colors.

WHAT IS ONE BOOK OR SERIES YOU HOPE TO READ THIS SUMMER?

Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
My Grandma was raving about this book on the phone and I have been meaning to read it. There's an extremely high rating for it on Goodreads too. I have been seeing it everywhere and I have been meaning to pick it up. I try to read all of Reese Witherspoon's book club reads!
That was one fun tag! Short but sweet. If you want to do this tag please feel free. I am lazy today and don't want to pick anyone specific. I hope you are doing great and would love to know your thoughts in the comments down below.

  2. Arizona in summer? Yuck. Colorado is hot enough for me, but we also have a serious lack of beaches. The Hunger Games was one of the first books that kept me awake all night. I needed to know what happened!

  3. My youngest is reading The Hunger Games Series right now, so we all watched the first movie together while we were on vacation. I really do love that series!
